Holiday Weddings! Yay or Nay!?

With all the joy, magic, happiness, and champagne that the holiday season brings, it seems like the perfect time to celebrate the happiest day of your life, right!? On the plus side, many of your guests will be in the festive spirit and enjoying some time off, so the atmosphere will be fantastic!✨🍾🥂 But, as you start to consider it, we just want to remind you of a few things to think about before you finalize the date!

💸 Weddings are expensive, and the holiday season definitely doesn’t get you any discounts! Keep in mind that you will likely have to pay a premium on a lot of your expenses. Time and a half for workers, plus price increases around this time of the year for flowers, decor, hotel rooms, venues, and catering, since demand is so high and these businesses are working double time to keep up!

📆 Wedding planning can start anywhere from 12-18 months in advance (maybe even more, depending on the scale of the event), but if you’re thinking about a holiday season wedding, you will probably want to get started even earlier! With all the other parties, events, and gatherings hosted during this time of the year, venues and service teams will be in high demand and you will be competing with everyone outside the wedding industry! We recommend you reach out as early as possible to your preferred vendors, to make sure you can secure them!

🕺🏻 Don not hold off on your “Save the Date”! Even though we are sure all your friends and family will be super excited to spend one of the most magical times of the year celebrating with you, do not forget that they will probably have lots of other commitments, traditions, and plans of their own! Many people also use this time for family getaways! Try to let your guests know as far in advance as possible, to make sure your favorite people can dance alongside you on your special day! (P.S. The good news, is that since your guests probably have some extra time off from work, they are also probably willing to dance a little extra longer😉)

❄️ If you are from Canada (like me!) or any other country who enjoys a particularly cold or snowy winter, make sure you have a Plan A, B and C in case unpredictable weather intervenes!

Last, but certainly not least, a winter wedding might give you some extra inspiration when you’re dress shopping! Sleeves and lace are some of our faves for a winter wonderland wedding aesthetic. Luckily, Bridal Avenue Barcelona has you covered! You might want to check out Chiara, Badia, and Marta by Ines Di Santo, for a few ideas🙊👰🏽‍♀️
